What it means to be a Health Coach
From Health Coach to Founder: Why I Made Jiggl
By Chloe, Founder of Jiggl
Long before Jiggl existed, I was a Certified Health Coach, trained through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN). I completed my training in 2018/2019, and it changed the way I looked at health — not just what's on your plate, but everything connected to it.
What IIN Actually Teaches
IIN's Health Coach Training Program covers holistic nutrition and behavior change — the idea that no single "correct" diet exists for everyone. Coaches are trained across more than 100 dietary theories, my favorite was the Paleo Diet, which is why I'm excited about Jiggl being made with grass-fed bovine gelatin. But, just as much of the work is about the why behind the way people eat: stress, relationships, movement, sleep, and the everyday choices that either support a healthy life or quietly work against it. It's less "eat more kale" and more "look at the whole picture."
Why I Was Drawn to This Work
I've always been interested in a healthy lifestyle — but more specifically, in how everything in your life is tied to your health. (Just ask my parents - they got to hear all about how I felt they needed to change! Hahah) I watched people around me face a familiar fork in the road: reach for medication, or start changing how they lived. And "changing how they lived" was rarely just about food. It was about relationships, activity, stress, and cutting the noise out of daily life. Which I constantly have to work on myself. (The struggle is real!)
That interest became personal when my husband and I struggled with unexplained infertility. It sent me down a real rabbit hole — researching how stress reduction and clean, whole-food eating could support the body in ways I hadn't fully appreciated before. That season of my life is a big part of why I became a Health Coach in the first place.
How That Training Shows Up in Jiggl
Jiggl didn't come out of nowhere. It came out of years of thinking about how to make "healthy" feel like something people actually want, not something they have to talk themselves into.
That's where the color and the wiggle come in. A clean-label, electrolyte- and vitamin-fortified gelatin snack isn't just about the ingredient panel — it's about creating a small moment of joy around something good for you. The bright, natural color (from red carrot and radish, or Spirulina - not dye) and the fun, wiggly texture are there on purpose. If health coaching taught me anything, it's that people don't stick with things that feel like punishment. They stick with things that feel good.
A Quick Note on Scope
I want to be transparent: as a Health Coach, my training is in holistic nutrition and lifestyle behavior change — it isn't a substitute for medical care. If you're dealing with a specific health condition, please work with your doctor and/or a registered dietitian alongside anything you read here. I'm not writing this as your practitioner; I'm writing it as the founder of a company built on things I believe in.
